The staff at the Parr Center for Ethics are very excited to announce and welcome our new NHSEB Director, Alex Richardson!

Alex comes to us from Knoxville, Tennessee, where he has been a Ph.D. student at the University of Tennessee. His research interests are in ethics and political philosophy, and he is currently writing a dissertation on the nature of political resistance and its relation to democratic ideals of civility.

In addition to his doctoral work, Alex taught undergraduate philosophy courses at UT, and was the 2019 recipient of the John Hardwig Prize for Teaching Excellence. He is also former Assistant Director of the Tennessee High School Ethics Bowl, and has been very involved in that regional program throughout his time in graduate school. We look forward to his leadership of the NHSEB beginning in August.

You’ll be hearing more from him as the season begins, so, please help us welcome Alex!
