In the often Darwinian world of high school, there’s little room for subtlety. And yet five Piscataway High School students are preparing for a national competition in which their success depends on finding the middle ground.
Students from Piscataway’s debate team are headed to the National High School Ethics Bowl at the University of North Carolina Friday and Saturday, where they will compete against 19 other regional champions. The ethics bowl combines philosophy with debate: teams tackle big ideas in a format that asks them to analyze and understand rather than react and defend.
