SUMMIT, NJ – The Kent Place School Upper School Ethics Bowl Team —  which included Summit’s Grace Hayward and Olivia Hayward — took third place in the ‘National High School Ethics Bowl’, which was hosted by the UNC Parr Center for Ethics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The competition featured 24 regional champion teams from throughout the country. The Kent Place team qualified for the national competition by winning first place amongst 16 teams at New Jersey Regionals at Stevens Institute of Technology in December of 2016.

The Kent Place team qualified for the quarterfinals by unanimously winning three out of four of the qualifying rounds. In the semifinal round, Kent Place was pitted against the eventual champion, North Carolina School for Science and Mathematics, and ended up coming in third place after presenting a difficult case study on “drone strikes.”
