For the second year in a row, Austin-East High School has won the Ethics Bowl.

Karns High School came in second, and the Christian Academy of Knoxville was third.

The event, sponsored by the Department of Philosophy and the College of Arts and Sciences, was held Wednesday.

Austin-East will now have the opportunity to compete at the first National High School Ethics Bowl at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, on April 19 and 20.

The Ethics Bowl is a competition in which five-student teams from various high schools try to develop solutions to realistic dilemmas using ethical theories and reasoning.
